Dementia-friendly design can include the information that stays with the person
Axios Phoenix reported that Tempe is planning an age- and dementia-friendly area within Kiwanis Park. The proposed design includes features intended to make the space easier to use for older adults, people with dementia and caregivers.
That is an important idea: good environments should adapt to the people using them.
Information preparedness can follow the same principle.
A person with dementia may become separated from a caregiver or may not be able to explain who they are, who should be contacted or what selected information would help the next person assisting them.
Scan If Hurt™ gives the individual a scannable Safety ID connected to information chosen in advance.
That allows useful person-level information to remain available with the individual while they are out in the community.
Dementia-friendly design can exist in the space around the person and in the information that stays with them.
